I loved working on this poetry book cover with Robert! Based on the poems I came up with a subtle colour palette and tactile textures to reflect the atmosphere and emotion of the collection. Hi there! 😊 For those who just started following my work, here is a little intro! 𝙄 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙨, 𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙝 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙥𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙮, 𝙎𝙘𝙤𝙩𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙙, 𝙗𝙡𝙪𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙤𝙣𝙨! I’m an illustrator, designer and artist based in The Hague, who specialises in creating artwork for poetry book covers and riso prints. Nature in all its forms is a constant inspiration to me, and I draw from the theme to create composition, patterns, lines and shapes. When looking at my work you enter my universe of hilly landscapes, sunsets, birds, cloudy skies, bright colours and soft textures. I love observing tiny details in nature such as lichens or seaweeds but also mountainous landscapes rising from the sea, with all their wonderful textures and changing colours depending on the weather. I use distinctive colour palettes and almost-tactile textures to evoke atmosphere and emotion. My aim is to create art prints that make your homes cozier and make you feel more connected to nature and the animal world. ‘The Lichen Heart’ Lichens have a unique way of adapting to inhospitable environments. They expose themselves to adverse conditions and by remaining vulnerable lichens create a favorable environment for other species. They help them and enable their coexistence. They thrive together as a community. Isn’t it inspiring? I became more interested in lichens after my trips to Scotland. I always really liked their beautiful shapes, colors and was fascinated by the places where they grew. I read something about them here and there and that inspired me to make this print. This risoprint was printed in 3 colours: bright red, blue and yellow at @riso_pop studio in Amsterdam in a limited edition of 25. The frame was spray painted in the @molotowheadquarters tulip blue that beautifully matches the blue riso ink 💙

I loved working on this book cover with @deparisi_ This heart-wrenching debut takes you deep into the emotional complexities of one young woman’s decision to have an abortion. With dissociation, heartbreak, and frustration with bureaucracies at its core, this novel doesn’t just explore the struggle—it confronts what it truly means to navigate womanhood in a world of impossible choices. Deanna said this over our collaboration: ‘Eva was amazing!! She was so beyond collaborative and truly made my book come to life. I appreciated her extreme attention to detail, as well as her responsiveness. She was professional while still expressing excitement behind the project. As I am on my way to see the new @riso_pop studio for the first time, I realised I forgot to post about my Riso Club Spotlight in the latest Riso Pop News. I have joined the riso club during the pandemic and since then it has been bringing me so much joy and sense of supportive and inclusive creative community. And not to forget accountability to regularly create new work 😊 All thanks to the amazing Aafke @curlysketches and all her positive energy and hard work to build a local riso community ❤️ Next to a Q&A I have also prepared an A3 poster in blue and yellow. This art print is a new version of Pigeon Tapestry that I printed at Riso Pop last year in blue and red. As this issue of Riso Pop news is printed in blue and yellow I came up with a quiet night scene lit up by a full moon and starry sky. This print is a celebration of rolling hills, clear night skies, calmness and most of all pigeons. These beautiful and intelligent birds that are often misunderstood and disliked. I am still reminiscing about the amazing day I spent at @uithetgareel art market on the last day of June in @paard_denhaag ! The atmosphere was just great. I met so many lovely fellow artists and people visiting the market. I sold my first print within the first 9 minutes and had so many great chats about pigeons and my work. I have a lot of new ideas based on people’s comments and observations! This is one of my latest risoprints. ‘Maky’ (Slovak for poppies) is a quiet meditation of everyday, where we let go of all distractions, get a bit bored and then curious and just observe what is in front of us. A while ago I tried to grow some poppies on my balcony from a bag of poppy seeds I brought from Slovakia for making cakes. I love all the delicious poppy seed cakes and sweet dishes ❤️ My balcony farming was not that successful as poppies need a lot of soil and space to properly grow, but I dried a few of the tiny poppy heads and had them in a vase on the table. I enjoyed staring at them and observing their shape and texture 😊 Available at @artattack_novacvernovka and at the @uithetgareel art market in Paard (Den Haag) in the 30th of June! A favourite book cover project ‘But I Don’t Feel Empowered’ by the talented young poet and artist Suri Chan published by @andrewsmcmeel is launching today in @barnesandnoble, at Upper East Side in NYC at 6pm! I really enjoyed my collaboration with Suri, her enthusiasm, dedication and clear vision.
